Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed with customer engineering teams, understand their business and technical constraints, and translate ambiguous problems into scalable AI-enabled systems.
- Design and build production AI applications, including multi-agent orchestration, retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, and decision intelligence.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, APIs, and existing applications while optimizing latency, reliability, observability, cost, and security.
- Own production rollout and operationalization, including troubleshooting incidents across AI models, distributed systems, data pipelines, and application services.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, testing, CI/CD, rollback, and resiliency mechanisms for AI systems.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable patterns, accelerators, and reference architectures.
- Mentor engineers and contribute engineering practices, reusable components, and customer learnings back into AWS.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale; AI agent development is a plus.
- Experience with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, enterprise-scale AI/ML application experience, startup or founder experience, customer production architecture experience, AWS experience, and React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go experience.
- Preferred qualifications also include customer-facing technical project leadership or external stakeholder management and 3+ years in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
