$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build developer tools used daily by Amazon engineers.
- Maintain and evolve programming languages, build tools, compilers, libraries, and frameworks.
- Contribute directly to upstream open-source projects and help shape their development.
- Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to identify pain points and build tools that address them.
- Write and review code and help teammates debug issues with development tools.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
