Responsibilities

  • Build the framework that converts high-level ion transport specifications into voltage waveform data for runtime execution.
  • Support the development of transport waveform solvers and physics simulations.
  • Collaborate with experimental and theoretical scientists on experiment and simulation requirements.
  • Help design, parameterize, and calibrate transport operations used in quantum circuits.
  • Interface with runtime, non-real-time control, FPGA, and electronics teams on overall system architecture.
  • Develop high-performance data pipelines for controlling large-scale ion traps.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in a systems programming language and experience with performance-sensitive computing.
  • Experience producing and maintaining high-quality production code.
  • Familiarity with mathematics and numerical programming, such as Python.
  • Experience with Rust or C++, or willingness to learn Rust.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across software and scientific disciplines.
  • Comfort working with rapidly evolving requirements in a highly technical environment.
