Responsibilities

  • Design and develop machine learning and deep learning features for Knowledge Question Answering in Siri and Spotlight.
  • Build and maintain large-scale data systems, knowledge graphs, and end-to-end production ML pipelines.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, monitor, and improve distributed ML systems serving millions of queries per second.
  • Use measurement, evaluation, statistical analysis, A/B testing, experimentation, and user feedback to improve model and product quality.
  • Develop model monitoring, observability, quality assurance, and human-in-the-loop evaluation systems.
  • Optimize ML systems for latency, throughput, and cost and collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with 2+ years of industry experience building production ML/AI systems, or a PhD in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, and Go.
  • Experience building large-scale data systems, knowledge graphs, and end-to-end ML pipelines in production, ideally with the Apache software stack and Spark.
  • Hands-on production experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with natural language processing, statistical data analysis, and model evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring solutions.
  • Preferred: MS degree with 6+ years of industry experience or PhD with 3+ years of production ML experience.
  • Preferred: experience with distributed ML systems, experimentation frameworks, human-in-the-loop evaluation, LLM deployment, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, generative AI, and production model observability.
  • Track record of shipping ML-powered consumer features and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
