Responsibilities

  • Develop new Ubuntu Pro Client features using high-quality Python code.
  • Write unit and functional tests and debug and fix issues.
  • Review code produced by other engineers.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team and Canonical product teams, cloud partners, and users.
  • Investigate ideas, discuss solutions, and help guide engineering best practices.
  • Work with users across mission-critical and hobbyist environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Extensive experience with Python on Linux.
  • Interest in and experience with at least two of Ubuntu Linux systems administration, continuous integration, end-system contract management, Debian packaging, and public or on-premise clouds.
  • Passion for Ubuntu and open source, with strong attention to quality, edge cases, usability, documentation, and community coordination.
  • Experience engaging with the open source community is advantageous.
