Responsibilities
- Collaborate with scientists across drug development to understand challenges and build supporting AI platforms.
- Build generative AI prototypes and agentic workflows that accelerate scientific processes.
- Design and deploy machine learning models for clinical transcriptomics, proteomics, and cell painting analysis.
- Calculate project ROI and communicate AI results, uncertainties, and limitations to stakeholders.
- Scale exploratory research into production by improving infrastructure, platforms, tooling, and deployment environments.
- Work with global AI research teams and internal Cyber Security, Data Privacy, governance, and compliance functions.
- Lead stakeholder relationships, AI projects, and strategic planning for organizational AI needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, computational sciences, or a related field, or a master’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience applying machine learning or AI in a scientific field such as biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or environmental research.
- Advanced Python programming and experience with AI libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Proven experience with deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, prompt engineering, RAG, and LLM fine-tuning.
- Experience implementing generative AI workflows, agentic AI workflows, foundation models, and large-scale analysis of high-dimensional unstructured data.
- Knowledge of software development, machine learning deployment, cloud environments, Kubernetes, container-based deployments, DevOps, and MLOps practices.
- Familiarity with CNNs, vision transformers, diffusion models, ResNet, UNet, DINO, CLIP, and Stable Diffusion.
- Strong communication, presentation, leadership, project management, AI ethics, and responsible AI skills.
- Desirable experience includes life sciences, healthcare or pharmaceutical work; ADMET, DMPK, and population pharmacology modeling; LLM frameworks; foundation models for transcriptomics or Cell Painting; and publications in leading AI or pharmaceutical research venues.
