Responsibilities
- Translate clinical, user, and product needs into software behavior, designs, interfaces, and verification approaches.
- Design, implement, debug, test, prototype, integrate, review, document, and release production-quality software.
- Collaborate with clinical, product, systems, UX, quality, and engineering specialists.
- Participate in medical-device software documentation and applicable quality and cybersecurity processes.
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, and risks, and provide technical guidance or mentoring appropriate to the career level.
- Travel up to 10% and attend laboratory sessions, surgeries, customer observations, or field activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, debugging, and testing software in at least one language appropriate to the product.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools while independently validating outputs and following security and confidentiality requirements.
- Working knowledge of software design, source control, code review, and automated testing.
- Ability to solve technical problems, learn unfamiliar software systems, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with medical devices, robotics, navigation, imaging, surgical systems, regulated or safety-critical industries, relevant application, UI, service, data, algorithm, device, firmware, or test technologies, medical-device development controls or risk management, end users, and technical leadership or mentoring.
