Responsibilities
- Build services, tools, applications, or embedded software supporting the autonomous fleet.
- Develop automation for testing, integration, telemetry, or diagnostics.
- Improve the reliability, performance, or observability of production systems.
- Collaborate with senior software, firmware, and hardware engineers.
- Present the completed project at the end-of-summer showcase.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Expected to graduate between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028 and remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the internship.
- Able to commit to a full-time 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2027.
- Able to relocate to the Bay Area, California, for the internship.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, such as C++, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
- Experience with Linux, the command line, and Git.
- Experience with microcontrollers or embedded application processors for firmware opportunities.
- Strong debugging, triage, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Bonus qualifications include CI and build systems, an embedded RTOS, CAN or LIN protocols, pub/sub, Jira, or Looker.
Benefits
- Monthly salary range of $6,500 to $9,500, varying by geographic location and level of education.
