Base Salary

$128k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Implement and optimize computer vision and perception algorithms in C++ for low-SWaP embedded processors.
  • Configure CMake and modern C++ build systems and integrate software into unmanned aerial and maritime systems.
  • Write unit tests, validate and debug software, and support benchtop testing, demonstrations, and operational field experimentation.
  • Lead software design, implementation, documentation, and testing in accordance with software processes and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with software developers, external developers, customers, and stakeholders to design reusable software and deliver projects on schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and contribute to process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • Strong C/C++ software engineering skills, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and development workflows.
  • Experience with CMake, modern C++ build systems, Python, Ubuntu and/or CentOS Linux, unit testing, debugging, Git, IDEs, and debuggers.
  • Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Experience with DDS, gRPC, and Rust is preferred; familiarity with machine learning and computer vision concepts is desired.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with willingness to work on government contracts and obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel within the continental U.S. up to 40% and obtain or already hold an FAA Part 107 certification.
