Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical authority for architecture, system design, performance, reliability, and integration across the GPNTS navigation system.
- Develop C/C++ software for embedded, multi-processor, real-time systems and contribute algorithms and architectural patterns for navigation, timing, sensor fusion, and distributed processing.
- Lead system-level integration involving embedded platforms, real-time data feeds, navigation sensors, and shipboard networking environments.
- Perform advanced debugging, performance analysis, fault identification, and root-cause analysis across large distributed components.
- Create and review high-fidelity design documentation, interface specifications, architectural models, and engineering review packages.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers while influencing development methods and engineering culture.
- Advise program leadership, customers, and government stakeholders on architecture, feasibility, trade studies, modernization, and advanced applications.
- Recommend improvements to engineering processes, tools, and software work products.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing C/C++ software for embedded, multi-processor, or real-time systems.
- Experience with software architecture, distributed systems, deterministic processing, advanced debugging, Linux development, systems programming, and Linux-based tools or build systems.
- Experience leading technical teams, influencing architecture, and guiding complex engineering efforts.
- Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced related degree and at least 7 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, with U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for the clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Preferred experience includes embedded, real-time, networking, or distributed-systems architecture; GitLab CI or Jenkins; secure coding, cybersecurity integration, or DevSecOps; automated test infrastructure; simulation environments; navigation sensors; distributed messaging; data fusion; and technical roadmap leadership.
