Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data-acquisition and automated test-control systems.
  • Develop software applications and test scripts for laboratory equipment control, test-data acquisition, and engineering-test automation.
  • Integrate DAQ hardware, PLCs, thermocouples, sensors, pressure transducers, flow sensors, power measurement devices, and related laboratory equipment.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data-transfer methods for secure storage, retrieval, analysis, integrity, backup, and redundancy of engineering test data.
  • Support standardized test-data structures, metadata, reporting, documentation, and configuration practices.
  • Provide local technical support for SolidWorks and related engineering software, including installation, licensing, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate laboratory technology and software solutions and coordinate with internal IT and third-party vendors.
  • Apply Lean/PPI principles to automate repetitive work, improve data availability, and reduce test-system variability.
  • Work hands-on with engineers and technicians in laboratory, prototype, and manufacturing environments while maintaining safety standards.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience developing, implementing, or maintaining software and data systems for engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or test environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • An associate degree in a related technical discipline with significant relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data-acquisition and automated test systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for engineering or test data.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, Python, SQL, C/C++, .NET, or similar development environments.
  • Experience integrating software with DAQ hardware, PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, and physical test equipment.
  • Experience supporting engineering software applications such as SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms preferred.
  • Experience with controlled-environment, HVAC/R, refrigeration, thermal, or electromechanical product testing strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party software and hardware suppliers preferred.
  • Knowledge of data-acquisition architecture, instrumentation, signal acquisition, relational databases, data integrity, backup, and retrieval methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software interfaces with physical hardware and laboratory equipment and create technical documentation and user training.
