Responsibilities

  • Conduct cluster analysis of autonomous-vehicle driving behaviors.
  • Build tools and automated pipelines to improve Waymo's in-field response to undesirable events.
  • Experiment with methods to improve the precision of signals detecting undesirable behaviors.
  • Develop signals to quantify Waymo's driving performance.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a master's or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python or C++.
  • Have basic data-analysis proficiency using SQL or Python.
  • Demonstrate data fluency.
  • Preferred: experience training and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Preferred: experience prototyping agentic systems.
  • Preferred: experience with C++ and large-scale distributed systems.
