Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support complex SAP S/4HANA application solutions and ABAP components.
- Develop and re-engineer application components, software packages, programs, and reusable objects across multiple platforms.
- Implement SAP UI5/Fiori applications, including custom extensions and configuration of user roles, catalogs, and groups.
- Build automation, testing utilities, frameworks, and tooling to improve quality and delivery speed.
- Develop RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, including OData services, for SAP components and external consumption.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and deliverables with business and technology stakeholders.
- Contribute to DevOps practices, continuous integration and delivery, Solution Manager activities, prototypes, wireframing, and design thinking.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Promote responsible AI usage, secure coding, automated testing, peer review, and reusable engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including object-oriented ABAP, ABAP Core Data Services, performance tuning, and RICEF.
- Experience with SAP HANA data modeling and development tools, including HANA Studio and ABAP Development Tools.
- Knowledge of ADBC, Native SQL, database procedures, text search, and SAP HANA data access patterns.
- Experience with ALV on HANA and HANA Live model consumption.
- Experience designing applications that consume OData services and developing RESTful APIs using OData.
- Experience working in agile project environments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI engineering practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations, with the ability to guide peers.
- Preferred experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, SAP Build, ABAP Unit, ABAP Double, implementation and upgrade projects, maintenance, post-production support, Solution Manager, BPCA, ChaRM, Focus Build, SAP Fiori, and the RAP model.
