Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ software for complex safety-critical systems.
- Apply structured, model-based, and scalable software architecture approaches.
- Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to integrate software onto target platforms.
- Ensure compliance with DO-178C, MISRA C/C++, and other safety and coding standards.
- Support system integration, verification, and validation in lab-based environments.
- Contribute to delivery within an Agile development framework and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing C++ software in embedded or safety-critical environments.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Experience in defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with safety-critical development standards including DO-178C and MISRA C/C++.
- Experience working in Agile teams with Jira, Confluence, and Git-based version control.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience from a technical military background.
- Eligibility for or possession of UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Desirable experience includes UML or model-based development, IBM Rhapsody, DOORS, Dimension, software integration, verification, lab-based testing, real-time systems, embedded platforms, or complex system development.
