Responsibilities

  • Architect software and firmware systems for embedded SoC hardware platforms.
  • Design, develop, and maintain new and legacy FPGA logic components.
  • Develop communications between distributed software components.
  • Develop embedded Linux applications and drivers integrating FPGAs with other software components.
  • Package and use IP components in FPGA block diagram designs.
  • Develop testbenches and test tools for verification.
  • Develop for and integrate with digital signal processors.
  • Design for partial FPGA reconfiguration.
  • Use containers to dynamically program FPGAs.
  • Automate software using scripts.
  • Perform system demonstrations and support systems integration.
  • Document, implement, integrate, review, and maintain embedded software systems.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience developing and maintaining FPGA firmware components.
  • Proficiency in VHDL and familiarity with high-level programming languages such as C and C++.
  • Experience working in a Linux operating environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development life cycles.
  • Formal education or equivalent experience in a systems or software engineering discipline.
  • Strong complex problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government Secret-level security clearance.
  • Desired experience with embedded general-purpose processors or DSPs, embedded Linux, and SoC-based architectures.
  • Desired experience with Xilinx FPGAs, Vivado/Vitis, Yocto, Buildroot, or PetaLinux.
  • Desired experience with SDR platforms, frameworks, software, Bash, TCL, MATLAB, containerization, virtualization, and modular open systems architectures such as CMOSS, SOSA, MORA, VICTORY, and OpenVPX.
