Responsibilities

  • Lead the technology strategy, multi-year roadmap, and target architecture for an enterprise learning ecosystem.
  • Design, develop, integrate, modernize, and optimize learning platforms and connected enterprise systems.
  • Deliver cloud-native applications, data integrations, workflow automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and apply AI, automation, simulation, and intelligent workflows to learning operations.
  • Guide prototypes and pilots into secure, reliable, supportable, enterprise-scale production solutions.
  • Establish technical governance, standards, documentation, release practices, and operational processes.
  • Oversee learning data, reporting, analytics, and automation to improve insight and decision-making.
  • Lead vendor evaluation, implementation planning, technical decisions, risk mitigation, and continuity across transformation workstreams.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions and delivery plans.
  • Mentor engineers and promote modern platform and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Learning Technologies, Instructional Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in learning technology, enterprise platforms, systems integration, software/application architecture, or a related technical field.
  • Experience leading or supporting enterprise learning ecosystems involving LMS and adjacent learning platforms.
  • Experience building multi-platform roadmaps covering architecture, scalability, integration, and long-term capability planning.
  • Strong software engineering background with application development, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, or Node.js.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native applications on AWS or another major cloud platform.
  • Experience with reporting, analytics, data automation, AI-driven workflows, large language models, prompt design, and AI orchestration.
  • Experience leading technical delivery across multiple workstreams, vendors, and stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of security, access controls, governance, compliance, and responsible technology practices.
  • Experience documenting technical designs, architectural decisions, standards, and operational processes.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution skills.
  • Preferred experience includes Litmos or similar LMS platforms, LXP, LCMS, LRS, xAPI, SCORM, learning analytics, RAG systems, AI agents, simulation-based learning, and global learning platforms.
