Responsibilities
- Own the strategy and quality of the Elastic Security detection library using ES|QL and KQL.
- Design high-fidelity detections mapped to attacker techniques while improving coverage and reducing noise.
- Lead complex incident investigations, threat hunting, response playbook refinement, and post-incident security improvements.
- Build automated investigation, enrichment, and response workflows using SOAR, APIs, and custom tooling.
- Improve AWS cloud security monitoring, system hardening, network security, IAM, and security tooling.
- Support security compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and DORA.
- Mentor engineers, influence architecture, promote security best practices, and help build a security-first culture.
- Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of hands-on security engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in incident response, threat hunting, SIEM, digital forensics, and scripting.
- Experience designing detections, automating workflows, and improving security operations processes.
- Strong experience securing cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Experience with system hardening, network security, IAM, and security monitoring.
- Experience with Elastic Security, ES|QL, and KQL is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including mentoring and cross-functional technical influence.
