Base Salary
$197k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and ship end-to-end AI agents for pricing intelligence and booking compliance without human oversight.
- Build secure AI infrastructure and tooling for exposing internal logistics data to LLMs.
- Apply agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, and workflow orchestration to production systems.
- Launch products rapidly and incrementally on Flexport’s client-facing rates and freight booking surfaces.
- Mentor and develop engineers while promoting technical excellence.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to define the team’s technical roadmap and hiring bar.
- Collaborate with Pricing, Sales, Operations, and Design on logistics domain problems.
Requirements
- Experience with agent patterns, retrieval-augmented generation, and prompt engineering in production.
- Experience with workflow orchestration such as Temporal and building reliable systems around non-deterministic AI.
- Proven ability to identify high-leverage product opportunities and build data-heavy applications with high-quality user interactions.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams or systems and building unified interfaces over diverse backend systems.
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems and simple, well-tested, maintainable code.
- Strong technical communication skills with business partners, product managers, and engineers.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, React, or AWS is a plus.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, freight technology, internal tools, or operator-facing applications is a plus.
