Responsibilities
- Define the technology roadmap and architecture vision for surgical planning and connected healthcare products.
- Own scalable architecture across desktop applications, cloud platforms, APIs, data, and distributed systems.
- Establish reusable frameworks, shared components, and architecture standards across product lines.
- Lead migration from legacy systems to cloud, microservices, container, and DevOps architectures.
- Embed medical-device safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance into software architecture.
- Guide medical imaging, DICOM/PACS, 3D visualization, and surgical planning workflows.
- Drive automation, testing, software quality, security, performance, and reliability practices.
- Mentor architects and engineers, influence senior stakeholders, and align global product teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Experience architecting complex, scalable software products in regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Expert knowledge of C++, object-oriented design, software architecture patterns, and system design.
- Strong experience with Qt/QML, OpenGL, VTK, and ITK desktop application technologies.
- Hands-on experience designing cloud-native solutions on Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with microservices, containerization, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with .NET, Java, Python, and modern backend development frameworks.
- Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, CI/CD, automated testing, and software quality engineering.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, software safety, and secure development practices.
- Experience with medical-device development standards including IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.
- Preferred experience includes medical imaging, DICOM, PACS, 3D visualization workflows, and shared platforms or frameworks across multiple products.
