Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Tech Lead

- Own technical design, technical execution, and production deployments for an SRE pod.
- Design and implement systemic improvements across AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Break requirements into technical tasks, lead code reviews, triage work, and maintain engineering quality standards.
- Develop automated runbooks, self-healing systems, and CI/CD automation using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices.
- Mentor P1–P5 engineers and raise the team’s technical standards.
- Lead high-severity incident response, facilitate blameless post-mortems, and drive architectural improvements.
- Develop observability and predictive reliability capabilities using AI/ML and data-driven insights.
- Participate in and provide technical oversight for a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Own the pod’s technical roadmap and lead cross-pod reliability initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or software engineering.
- At least 3+ years in a Staff-level, Technical Lead, Manager, or Senior Manager capacity.
- Expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, and EKS in large-scale distributed cloud environments.
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet within a GitOps framework.
- Ability to write production-grade code in Python, Go, or Java, or with Claude Code, CodeEx, or CoPilot.
- Deep experience building monitoring, SLIs/SLOs, and tracing strategies with tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Splunk.
- Ability to communicate technical risks, collaborate with Product and Engineering managers, and align reliability goals with feature delivery.
- Experience managing on-call rotations and applying a safety-first operational mindset.
