Base Salary

$191k - $223k/yr

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable systems to mitigate dispute and chargeback issues.
Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to develop product features.
Integrate with third-party vendors and payment networks for chargeback defense.
Develop and iterate on dispute and chargeback mitigation strategies.
Monitor and enhance the quality and observability of risk systems.
Work with other engineering teams to improve technical processes.

7+ years of experience as a backend software engineer in Payments or Fintech.
Proficient in Java, Kotlin, or Python; experience with React is a plus.
Familiar with architectural patterns of large web applications.
Strong focus on code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
Experience working in cross-functional teams with product and data scientists.
Familiarity with experimentation and machine learning techniques is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience in fraud detection in the payments domain is a plus.
