Responsibilities
- Develop software systems that automate Amazon’s next-generation datacenter network.
- Build tools for network visibility and systems that automate wiring and incremental global network expansion.
- Design and architect reliable, scalable systems and create and review software design documentation.
- Provide technical direction, identify areas of focus, and collaborate with Principal Engineers, Scholars, Network Engineering, and DC Operations.
- Own the operational excellence of production software and improve team documentation, processes, and tools.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- Ability to produce high volumes of high-quality code while overseeing multiple AI agents.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of modern programming languages such as Rust, Java, and C/C++, plus a solid understanding of Linux, is preferred.
