Responsibilities
- Design and implement shared Playwright-based frameworks and libraries for web and API automation.
- Build backend APIs and full-stack internal tools for storing test cases, recording run results, and exposing reports.
- Integrate test automation with delivery workflows such as Linear webhooks, Slack notifications, and GitHub Actions.
- Implement and harden smoke and regression pipelines, reduce flakiness, and make failures diagnosable.
- Structure automation frameworks and contracts to support agent- and CLI-generated test specifications and evidence.
- Maintain automation as a production-grade codebase through reviews, helper tests, versioning, documentation, and refactoring.
- Collaborate with QA engineers and product engineers on adoption, testability, APIs, selectors, environments, and test-data hooks.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience in backend and/or full-stack engineering, with demonstrable automation or developer-tooling delivery.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for Playwright or equivalent end-to-end frameworks.
- Willingness to work with Java and Spring Boot for services and integrations.
- Experience building and maintaining web and API test automation frameworks and understanding when to use API versus UI coverage.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, relational databases, authentication fundamentals, and clean service boundaries.
- Comfort with React and Next.js or similar technologies for internal dashboards and test-management interfaces.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions or similar tools, Docker, and Git-based collaboration.
- Ability to systematically debug flaky tests, environment issues, and integration failures.
- Good written and verbal English; Spanish is a plus.
- Prior SDET, SET, or test infrastructure experience; mobile automation with Appium or BrowserStack; workflow orchestration with n8n; Linear or GitHub API integrations; AI or agent tooling; AWS and observability; fintech or payments experience; and experience replacing external test-management tools are preferred.
