Base Salary
$286k - $392k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability components.
- Develop optimization techniques that improve the scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization of production AI systems.
- Define the technical vision, architecture, and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems.
- Establish company-wide AI performance, safety, transparency, alignment, and governance standards.
- Drive multi-year initiatives unifying data, compute, and model lifecycle management under an enterprise AI architecture.
- Mentor senior technical leaders and influence engineering, research, policy, risk, legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master’s degree in one of these fields plus at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience architecting AI platforms and making tradeoffs involving cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms, including 9+ years preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
- Experience with LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, memory, agentic AI systems, and agentic workflows.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software and right-sizing models, instances, and hardware.
- Ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence stakeholders up to the SVP level.
- Experience developing long-term AI infrastructure strategies and driving AI safety, alignment, governance, regulatory compliance, and organization-wide adoption.
- Recognized industry leadership in applied AI or machine learning infrastructure through patents, publications, or open-source leadership.
- Ability to shape R&D investment strategy and communicate complex AI concepts effectively.
