Base Salary
$17k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and iterate Coupang’s IAM platforms in collaboration with a small, highly talented team.
- Partner with teams across the company to understand current needs and future direction.
- Design robust, scalable architectures and identify technical solutions balancing strategic goals with immediate impact.
- Hands-on develop critical infrastructure components and backend APIs in Java and Go.
- Drive adoption of the security platform across teams and help them prioritize integration work.
- Investigate critical system issues and raise the bar for operational excellence.
- Serve as a role model for engineers and help shape team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience.
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
- Preferred: master’s or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: working knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, IAM systems, identity providers, and role-based authorization.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, Istio, cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and high-reliability or low-latency systems.
- Preferred: fluency in one or more of C++, Java, and Go and recent experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
