Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases and scenarios for POS tax calculations and transaction processing.
- Validate U.S. sales tax calculations across state, county, city, district, and special tax jurisdictions.
- Test retail scenarios involving merchandise, food and beverage, gift cards, discounts, promotions, loyalty rewards, digital transactions, and payment tenders.
- Verify sales, refunds, exchanges, returns, voids, reversals, and post-void transaction behavior.
- Perform end-to-end testing across POS, payment processing, back-office systems, tax engines, and reporting platforms.
- Investigate, document, and track defects, tax discrepancies, and edge cases using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Tax Compliance teams on requirements validation, defect resolution, regression testing, and release readiness.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of hands-on manual QA experience with strong retail POS application testing expertise.
- Experience validating U.S. sales tax calculations, compliance requirements, and jurisdiction-specific tax rules.
- Strong understanding of tax exemptions, tax holidays, tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive pricing, and tax rounding methodologies.
- Experience testing retail sales, returns, exchanges, refunds, voids, promotions, discounts, and gift card workflows.
- Familiarity with third-party tax engines such as Vertex, Avalara, or similar solutions.
- Working knowledge of payment processing and tender types including credit cards, mobile wallets, stored value cards, and gift cards.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and proficiency with defect management tools.
- Knowledge of SQL, API testing, and Postman is highly preferred.
