Responsibilities
- Own and build security compliance activities for SOC, PCI, SOX, and other standards, with a focus on PCI.
- Analyze new products and initiatives to determine their security compliance impact.
- Build and deploy automation, reporting, and data visualization solutions to improve efficiency and track progress.
- Evaluate IT, security, and application controls and support the design and performance of PCI audits with external auditors.
- Advise cross-functional engineering and business teams on security and compliance requirements.
- Develop safeguards, systems, and policies that meet compliance requirements while supporting rapid innovation.
- Anticipate changes in Shopify’s security posture and technical footprint and propose appropriate solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT assurance and advisory work, particularly system implementations, technical security configurations, and cloud-native environments.
- Hands-on experience building data analytics, reporting solutions, and task automation tooling.
- Experience evaluating IT, security, and application controls within compliance programs at organizations of similar size and complexity.
- Strong knowledge of industry risk and PCI compliance frameworks.
- Strong project management, analytical, strategic problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives using agile project management methodologies and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Self-motivation, adaptability, continuous-learning orientation, and willingness to work hands-on while managing complex compliance programs.
