Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and troubleshoot embedded firmware code for allocated product functions.
- Read and understand hardware diagrams and embedded-system operating principles.
- Define firmware test specifications, support product testing throughout the product life cycle, and review test results.
- Implement and support control algorithms, including PID regulation, digital filtering, and Clarke and Park transforms.
- Contribute to code reviews, team performance improvement, technical planning, and information flow.
- Collaborate with engineering functions to define product specifications and produce technical documentation.
- Work with technical support to resolve field issues and provide active application and customer support.
- Support the testing team in defining test plans and validating firmware designs.
- Provide technical support when customers require it and travel as needed.
Requirements
- University degree or technical diploma in Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong C programming skills for real-time DSP system architectures.
- Knowledge of Git, GitLab, Tortoise SVN, DSP/MCU architectures, and preferably Texas Instruments-oriented systems.
- Knowledge of CAN bus, I2C, SPI, serial communication protocols, PWM, and ADC converters.
- Experience with Simulink and MATLAB for control-algorithm implementation, including PID regulators, Clarke and Park transforms, digital filtering, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, and electronic power converters.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and related processes.
- Strong planning, communication, teamwork, customer orientation, and English-language skills.
- Five or more years of experience in equivalent areas such as UPS, inverters, power converters, or low-voltage electrical distribution is preferred.
Benefits
- Full-time position based in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy.
- Annual gross salary range of €41,000 to €52,000.
- Benefits and any variable compensation may be provided according to local legal requirements.
- The role falls under the Metalmeccanico Industria National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL).
