Base Salary
$189k - $296k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead software solution development from architecture and design through development, validation, deployment, release, and operational support.
- Design, develop, and support large-scale network infrastructure, broadband access platforms, and carrier-grade distributed systems.
- Integrate applications and improve scalability, security, resiliency, telemetry, upgrade compatibility, and production performance.
- Troubleshoot urgent production issues and perform system analyses and debugging.
- Create comprehensive development documentation and monitor key performance metrics to guide improvements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, explain complex technical issues, and drive alignment across internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance on software quality and support project planning and resource management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Comcast may consider coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience instead.
- 15 years or more of relevant work experience.
- Extensive hands-on software engineering experience in Linux-based systems using C, C++, Golang, and/or Python.
- Experience designing, developing, or supporting large-scale network infrastructure, broadband access platforms, CMTS/vCMTS, DOCSIS/PON, or similar carrier-grade distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, control-plane architecture, service resiliency, software upgrade compatibility, telemetry, and production debugging.
- Experience with cloud-native or containerized environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, messaging/event-driven architectures, or configuration/state management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives from architecture and design through operational support.
- Preferred experience with DOCSIS 3.1, DOCSIS 4.0, Full Duplex DOCSIS, CM registration, channel bonding, DBC, load balancing, upstream/downstream resiliency, or cable modem interoperability.
- Preferred experience with CMTS, vCMTS, cloud-native broadband routers, access network platforms, or packet/network control-plane systems.
- Preferred experience working with cable modem, chipset, RPD, or network equipment vendors.
- Preferred experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams or serving as a technical lead or architect for major platform features.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership abilities.

- The role can be performed in Massachusetts and is generally expected to be on-site unless the team is designated virtual; remote consideration may be available for candidates living more than 100 miles from the office when listed.
- Base pay range of $188,925.50–$296,269.53 in Massachusetts, excluding bonus and other total-rewards components.
