Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own high-volume backend services for push, email, and in-app communications.
- Lead technical design for send-time optimization, frequency capping, rich push, and recommendation-driven targeting.
- Partner with data scientists to put ML models into production and develop experimentation and measurement capabilities.
- Improve message-delivery reliability and observability, including support for legal and transactional communications.
- Extract CRM logic from the core monolith into maintainable standalone services.
- Review code, mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Solid experience building and running backend systems at scale, ideally high-throughput or event-driven systems.
- Experience extracting domains or packages from monolithic codebases into decoupled services is a strong plus.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience building backend applications.
- Comfort working with databases, APIs, and service-based systems.
- Interest in distributed systems, architectural trade-offs, experimentation, and ML in production.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code and contribute proactively to team improvement.
