Responsibilities

  • Develop new features for Charmed OpenStack and Ceph using Python-based charms.
  • Debug issues and deliver high-quality fixes.
  • Review code written by other engineers.
  • Collaborate with distributed teammates to evaluate ideas and find effective solutions.
  • Ensure OpenStack and Ceph work successfully across multiple architectures.
  • Travel internationally for internal and external events several times per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Interest and experience with at least two listed technologies, including Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, Go, C, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Debian packaging, or scalable web services.
  • Experience with non-x86 architectures such as s390, arm64, and Power.
  • Experience with OpenStack, OVN, Open vSwitch, and related cloud technologies.
  • Passion for open-source software, distributed systems, software-defined datacenters, and infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team.
