Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve security issues across cloud infrastructure.
- Build, deploy, customize, and manage security tools and services, including vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
- Design and implement scalable processes for provisioning cloud access.
- Evaluate and respond to security tool alerts and events, tuning configurations to minimize false positives.
- Develop event response documentation and processes, including system, cloud operations, and security tool diagrams.
- Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, compliance, and other teams to execute security strategies.
- Assess cloud security, review architecture and designs, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for security tools, applications, and processes.
- Write SQL queries and build dashboards and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience working with public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience deploying and customizing vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines for change management and automated security testing.
- Experience with networking, web protocols, and Unix/Linux servers.
- Experience developing software with object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
- Experience with database programming and administration, log management or correlation systems, and SQL.
- Thorough understanding of cloud and network security and modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- NIST or ISO certification is preferred.
