Base Salary

$185k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

Architect and evolve customer-facing web platforms focusing on scale and AI-driven personalization.
Design, build, and maintain shared services for rapid product iteration.
Implement and optimize workflows for an exceptional customer experience.
Write high-quality, well-tested code across the stack using AI-powered tools.
Mentor fellow engineers and establish best practices for AI-native design.
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Own the long-term technical roadmap aligned with Gusto's AI-native strategy.

12+ years of experience in building scalable web applications.
Curiosity and ability to operate in an AI-native environment.
Deep experience with frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
Extensive backend API development, data modeling, and database design experience.
Proficiency in CI/CD and observability practices.
Ability to act as a thought partner for technical and business teams.
Balance of pragmatic execution and long-term architectural thinking.
Experience enabling productivity across large engineering organizations.
Hands-on experience with ML/AI product experiences is a plus.
Familiarity with React and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
