Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical leader for the Global Payroll engineering team by shaping architecture, standards, code reviews, delivery approaches, and engineering priorities.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions, delivery plans, and measurable priorities in collaboration with product managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead software development and integrations involving ADP Global View, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, and HR/payroll processes.
  • Design applications, APIs, integrations, data flows, and distributed systems while balancing reliability, security, performance, cost, and maintainability.
  • Provide hands-on technical coaching through code reviews, pairing, testing strategy, reusable patterns, and modern development practices.
  • Advance DevOps and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability, secure deployments, and production operations.
  • Monitor and resolve complex software defects and improve production reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Use modern engineering tools and AI-assisted development capabilities where appropriate to improve productivity and software quality.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical direction across teams, reduce technical debt, and build alignment with product, architecture, security, and operations partners.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting complex production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or a similar language.
  • Experience with software architecture and system design, including APIs, event-driven or integration patterns, distributed systems, data modeling, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Experience building and operating solutions using AWS services.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, infrastructure as code, and environment automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of secure software development, identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, dependency management, and delivery-pipeline security controls.
  • Experience improving production reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to provide staff-level technical leadership, mentor engineers, influence architecture, reduce technical debt, and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
  • Good understanding of HR/LR, time, and payroll processes, including reporting needs and Databricks/EDL setup.
  • Strong English communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills and openness to working with global product teams.
  • Experience with solution implementations incorporating AI technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience in a related career field.
  • Preferred qualifications include SAP SuccessFactors experience, reusable platform capability development, legacy modernization, cloud-native architecture, AI agents, A2A frameworks, AI-assisted engineering tools, monitoring-tool configuration, stakeholder collaboration, and Lean Service management.
