Base Salary
$350k - $375k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the company-wide AI architecture and roadmap, including shared interfaces, design patterns, tradeoffs, and implementation guidance.
- Design and build full-stack AI and agentic systems connecting models and retrieval to agent runtimes, memory, tools, and execution environments.
- Develop prototypes and production reference implementations for new AI capabilities.
- Architect production AI systems for performance, resilience, scale, latency, throughput, and compute efficiency across cloud and edge environments.
- Create reusable components, common APIs, shared tooling, and consistent developer experiences across products.
- Design AI lifecycle architecture spanning data ingestion, model adaptation, evaluation, deployment, operational feedback, quality gates, and observability.
- Embed security, governance, permissions, execution boundaries, auditability, and protections against prompt injection and data exposure into AI architectures.
- Review designs and code, resolve complex engineering problems, establish engineering standards, and mentor engineers and technical leaders.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture, systems engineering, or AI engineering, including senior technical leadership across multiple products or business units.
- Demonstrated experience personally designing and delivering production AI systems, including generative or agentic applications and supporting infrastructure.
- Strong foundations in distributed systems, software design, APIs, and performance engineering across application and infrastructure layers.
- Practical experience with model integration, inference serving, retrieval, and evaluation, including operating AI systems at scale.
- Experience establishing shared platforms and engineering standards across independent teams and aligning senior stakeholders around architectural tradeoffs.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Significant open-source or industry-standards contributions are a bonus.
- Depth in Linux systems software, networking, accelerated computing, or AI deployment across cloud and edge environments is a bonus.
- Experience modernizing established platforms into AI-native systems, particularly in cybersecurity or other demanding security and reliability environments, is a bonus.
