Responsibilities
- Define, refine, and deliver the product backlog with the Product Owner.
- Design and document software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Implement and refactor C# product code with emphasis on maintainability, testability, performance, and reliability.
- Develop unit tests, test frameworks, automated test cases, and GUI test automation.
- Review and debug code to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt.
- Coordinate development and bug-fixing activities and work with test engineers to ensure suitable test coverage.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Mentor junior team members and lead selected development activities.
Requirements
- Proficiency in software development using C# and .NET.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle in a commercial or production environment.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, Agile, and Extreme Programming methodologies.
- Experience with development tools including IDEs, version control, test automation, continuous integration, and defect and backlog management systems.
- Ability to design high-performance, scalable, extensible, testable, debuggable, and maintainable software architectures.
- Experience with GUI design and implementation using standards or frameworks such as WPF or WinForms.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, unit testing, and GUI test automation frameworks such as MS Test.
- Knowledge of Azure and cloud technologies, mathematics, statistics, complex algorithms, and the insurance industry.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant discipline.
- Interest in using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate development and improve code quality.
