Base Salary

$140k - $185k/yr

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the software stack that orchestrates quantum computing, interfaces with hardware control and calibration systems, and manages experimental data.
Rewrite and productionize prototype code from Quantum Engineers into reliable, tested, maintainable services.
Develop software for automated system tuning and calibration, quantum-algorithm scheduling, and result analysis.
Write extensible software for executing experiments and algorithms on quantum hardware with Quantum Engineers.
Make architecture and code-design decisions for a clean and extensible codebase.
Deploy, monitor, and support the production platform while participating in an on-call rotation.
Partner with the infrastructure team to improve CI/CD pipelines and software delivery stability.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer deploying complex software in production environments.
Track record of implementing architecture-level features in complex systems.
Proficiency with Python and SQL.
Experience developing and operating software in Linux environments.
Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
Willingness to learn atomic, optical, laser physics, and quantum mechanics concepts.
Preferred: experience with C++ or Rust, cloud infrastructure, Terraform, TypeScript/React frontend development, containerization technologies, and work at both a large technology company and a startup.
Preferred: strong organization and project management skills.
