- Develop or research algorithms for assembly sequence planning, disassembly planning, and motion planning.
- Apply geometric representations, collision or bounding-volume techniques, and infinitesimal or rotational motion analysis.
- Implement parallel C++ programs with attention to determinism.
- Use Python for tooling and analysis and work with CAD data and related formats.
Requirements
- Research or coursework in assembly sequence planning, disassembly planning, or motion planning.
- Publications at ICRA, IROS, RSS, SoCG, Solid and Physical Modeling, or in the Computer-Aided Design journal are desired.
- Experience with Eigen, OpenCASCADE, OpenVDB, CGAL, or a collision or bounding volume hierarchy library.
- Experience with parallel programming in C++ using Intel TBB, OpenMP, or standard threads.
- Familiarity with CAD boundary representations, tessellated meshes, and formats such as STEP and JT.
- Experience with CMake, GoogleTest, and reproducible builds; Nix is a plus.
- Python experience for tooling and analysis, including tools such as NumPy and trimesh.
- Familiarity with infinitesimal motion analysis or rotational motions in assembly planning.
