Responsibilities
- Instrument applications using Datadog APM, custom metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Use CloudWatch and Datadog to generate metrics from logs.
- Define SLIs and SLOs and guide functional KPI definition with business stakeholders.
- Implement structured logging across applications and services.
- Design business dashboards that translate technical telemetry into actionable insight.
- Instrument applications primarily with Python and, when required, TypeScript and Java.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Datadog APM, Datadog custom metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Experience instrumenting applications for functional and technical metrics using Datadog.
- Experience using logs as a source of metrics through CloudWatch or Datadog metric generation.
- Strong understanding of SLI and SLO definitions and functional KPI development.
- Solid AWS knowledge and practical experience.
- Mandatory ability to instrument applications with Python; TypeScript and Java are additional skills.
- Strong expertise with the Datadog SDK.
- Experience implementing and defining structured logging.
- Ability to design high-level business dashboards.
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Grafana, service-to-service traffic control and monitoring, or Power BI is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer Associate certification is preferred, and Datadog certifications are a plus.
