Responsibilities
- Analyze and refine requirements for automotive audio software components.
- Design and develop embedded audio software using modern C and C++.
- Develop, customize, and debug Android/AOSP Audio Framework and Audio HAL components.
- Work with AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyService/AudioPolicyManager, AudioService, Car Audio Framework, AIDL/HIDL, audio routing, and device management.
- Develop and maintain QNX/POSIX-based audio middleware, audio services, and audio-management components.
- Implement POSIX concepts including multithreading, inter-process communication, synchronization, shared memory, message queues, and sockets.
- Integrate audio software with DSP frameworks, operating-system services, HALs, and hardware interfaces.
- Analyze issues across application framework, middleware, HAL, operating system, DSP, and hardware layers.
- Support platform bring-up, integration, validation, and customer-specific audio configurations.
- Prepare and review high-level and low-level software designs, including UML-based designs.
- Perform unit testing with Google Test/GTest and contribute to CI/CD activities.
- Participate in design and code reviews, promote clean-code and software-quality practices, and provide technical guidance to team members.
Requirements
- 5–9 years of experience in software development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or a related engineering discipline.
- Hands-on experience with Android Automotive/AOSP and QNX-based embedded platforms.
- Strong Modern C++ experience, including C++11/14/17, object-oriented design, STL, memory management, multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization.
- Experience with Android Audio Framework, Audio HAL, audio middleware, audio management, audio routing, audio streaming, and audio device handling.
- Experience with QNX-based audio middleware or audio-management components; knowledge of QNX Sound Architecture and device-driver concepts is beneficial.
- Experience debugging Android with logcat, bug reports, and Tombstone logs.
- Understanding of embedded systems, RTOS concepts, Automotive Infotainment audio architecture, low-latency audio, amplifiers, and DSP integration.
- Familiarity with ALSA/TinyALSA and PCM/audio streaming is advantageous.
- Preferred experience with Qualcomm automotive audio architecture, DSP frameworks, QACT/QXDM, Qualcomm ACDB, Hypervisor-based IVI architectures, I2S, audio DSP processing, effects and tuning, and CAN/vehicle signals.
- Knowledge of UML/design tools, software design patterns, ISO 26262, and secure software development practices is preferred.
- Exposure to GitHub Copilot, LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows is an additional advantage.
- Familiarity with SAFe, Agile, and ASPICE is preferred.
