Responsibilities
- Architect and lead scalable, high-performance applications within Citi’s regulatory reporting framework.
- Design and implement Java, Spring Boot, SQL, real-time messaging, and Big Data solutions.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows for large-scale regulatory reporting.
- Define standards for coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and software quality.
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, business, and management teams on system enhancements and new capabilities.
- Resolve high-impact technical problems through analysis of complex business and system processes.
- Mentor and coach mid-level developers and analysts while providing technical direction and allocating work.
- Assess engineering risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and data-integrity standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on software development experience focused on backend engineering and enterprise-scale systems.
- Advanced expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and real-time messaging technologies.
- Experience building and delivering microservices-based architectures in production.
- Proven leadership, people management, mentoring, and work-allocation experience.
- Ability to design software architecture and perform technical trade-off analysis.
- Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
