Responsibilities
- Develop and ship on-device software that brings app intelligence to Siri across the operating system.
- Work directly with app teams to understand and model app capabilities for assistant use.
- Design interfaces for apps to expose capabilities to assistants and validate them with real app partners.
- Build tool and function-calling interfaces, context construction, output validation, and other model scaffolding.
- Partner with Siri’s planning and execution team on reliable app interactions.
- Design efficient systems within on-device latency, memory, and power constraints.
- Build cross-functional APIs with versioning and compatibility for dependent clients.
- Evaluate, benchmark, and monitor probabilistic system outputs using telemetry.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience developing and shipping production software.
- Strong proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
- Experience building product features on top of large language models, including tool and function-calling interfaces, context construction, and model-output validation.
- Fluency with agentic coding tools and sound judgment about applying and verifying their output.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to drive alignment across teams on shared API surfaces.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced development team.
- Preferred: experience building efficient systems for resource-constrained environments and understanding on-device latency, memory, and power budgets.
- Preferred: experience with model scaffolding, retrieval and context construction, output validation, model behavior, and failure modes.
- Preferred: experience building cross-functional software components and APIs with interface versioning and compatibility.
- Preferred: experience with evaluation, benchmarking, and telemetry for probabilistic systems.
