Responsibilities
- Understand business problems and recommend technology solutions.
- Architect, design, build, and deploy scalable technology solutions.
- Improve engineering practices, code quality, documentation, testing, and monitoring.
- Estimate effort, identify risks, and plan execution.
- Mentor and coach engineers while providing technical leadership.
- Identify broader issues, trends, and implications for the product and team.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience designing and developing highly scalable applications in product companies or R&D divisions.
- At least 5 years of experience building Java microservices.
- Strong computer systems fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL, and database technologies including MySQL, MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with systems design, distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree in a relevant computing field and 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred qualification of a relevant master's degree and 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
