$120k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design security architectures for new ground-station infrastructure and space communication protocols.
- Implement security controls for distributed systems spanning continents and supporting satellite communications.
- Secure RF protocols, Kubernetes clusters, and other infrastructure components across the technology stack.
- Deploy enterprise SIEM solutions capable of processing large volumes of satellite communications data and maintaining detailed audit trails.
- Serve as the primary security liaison for Space Force and other government customers.
- Lead incident response and threat hunting across the globally distributed ground-station network.
- Coordinate security activities with engineering, network operations, and compliance teams.
- Build automated compliance pipelines and comprehensive security documentation and reporting aligned with FedRAMP and NIST 800-171 requirements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
- Experience conducting security architecture reviews in regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of NIST 800-171, CUI, and FedRAMP frameworks.
- Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and CI/CD pipelines operating across air-gapped networks.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, Go, or Rust.
- Experience implementing defensive controls for endpoints, SaaS applications, and infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with large-scale log ingestion and storage pipelines for distributed systems.
- Preferred production experience with Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, or Panther SIEM platforms and CrowdStrike or SentinelOne endpoint security solutions.
- Strong production Linux experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of DFARS compliance and government contracting security requirements is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMASS or similar government assessment tools is preferred.
- Ability to own complex security projects and interface with government customers is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility for required State Department authorizations is required under ITAR regulations.
