Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own and drive the security strategy for DoorDash Labs - Air’s drone delivery systems, networks, operators, and infrastructure.
- Secure drone firmware, onboard software, physical hardware, nests, docking and charging systems, and related ground infrastructure.
- Design and implement secure networking architecture across drone, nest, and ground systems.
- Review RFCs and design documents and provide actionable, risk-based security guidance during development.
- Visit test and production sites at least quarterly to assess controls, validate deployments, and collaborate with on-site teams.
- Partner with Enterprise Security, GRC, and engineering leadership to align Air’s security posture with DoorDash’s broader strategy.
- Establish measurable security metrics to track posture and risk reduction over time.
Requirements
- 8+ years of security engineering experience with meaningful depth securing IoT or robotic platforms.
- Hands-on drone security experience, including drone authentication and physical and software security for drones and supporting infrastructure.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including VPN or mesh networking tools such as Tailscale.
- Ability to work autonomously and coordinate across engineering, hardware, and operations teams to drive schedules and validate security outcomes.
- Experience reviewing RFCs and design documents and communicating actionable security feedback.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or Go for security tooling and automation.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Electrical or Robotics Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel to test or production sites at least once per quarter.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work from the office once per week.
