Base Salary
$162k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for the developer platform, including build systems and engineering AI agents.
- Design and build AI agents for coding, code review, test generation, release automation, and incident response.
- Scale internal tooling while maintaining reliability and developer experience.
- Standardize tools and practices across engineering teams.
- Provide technical mentorship through code reviews and design discussions.
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical priorities and tradeoffs.
- Represent Samsara through talks, open source, and external engineering engagement when appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software-building experience, including at least 2 years in an architect or technical leadership role.
- 4+ years of experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
- 4+ years leading technical projects across multiple teams.
- Strong programming and software design fundamentals.
- Preferred experience with developer platforms, internal tooling, or CI/CD for large engineering organizations.
- Preferred experience shipping AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or custom agents.
- Strong skills in Go, Python, TypeScript, or a similar language.
- Demonstrated ability to improve engineering productivity through faster builds, easier deployments, reduced toil, or similar outcomes.
