Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM iSeries/AS400 applications using RPG III/IV/ILE, free-format RPG, CL, and COBOL.
- Design and optimize DB2/400 databases, including data models, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
- Implement integrations using APIs, web services, IWS, MQ, and file transfers.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within SLA timelines.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, project managers, and onsite/offshore teams.
- Support code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment, and release management.
- Follow client standards, security policies, and industry regulations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required; the detailed requirements specify 10+ years of hands-on IBM AS400 development experience.
- Strong expertise in RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, free-format RPG, CL, and COBOL on AS400.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, web services, IWS, MQ, and file transfers is mandatory.
- Proficiency in DB2/400 database design, queries, and stored procedures.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience with requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and other SDLC processes.
- Good communication and collaboration skills with onsite/offshore teams.
- Completion of 15 years of full-time education is required.
