Responsibilities
- Provide IT, cybersecurity, and basic systems support for commercial products.
- Support cybersecurity efforts as part of a project team.
- Learn operational and maintenance tasks for supported programs.
- Develop familiarity with VMware, Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft, and other IT technologies.
- Learn about Peraton and project culture.
Requirements
- High school diploma and some advanced-level training.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Foundational education in cybersecurity technologies and processes.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools through coursework or prior internships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies and concepts.
- Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong underclassmen may be considered if they have declared a major and completed qualified coursework.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is desired.
- Exposure to Agile software development processes and cloud computing environments is desired.
- Hands-on experience with Wireshark, Metasploit, or Kali Linux is desired.
Benefits
- Ten-week summer internship running from June through August.
- Requires availability for 35–40 hours per week.
- Hourly base rate of $24.00 or more.
- Potential eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus.
