Base Salary
$210k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own REST API standards, including versioning, backward-compatibility guarantees, deprecation policies, and OpenAPI specification tooling
- Design and ship stable, documented API endpoints for search, knowledge graph, chat, agents, and other platform primitives
- Build the API gateway layer with routing, authentication, rate limiting, quota management, and per-tenant usage metering
- Define reusable platform primitives across connectors, security and governance, knowledge graph, memory, and model orchestration layers
- Design, build, and evolve SDKs and client libraries for application and agent-framework integrations
- Work across backend services, developer tools, SDKs, and documentation
- Instrument API usage to measure adoption, error patterns, and latency SLOs
- Bring customer feedback, friction points, and feature requests into roadmap planning
Requirements
- BA/BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least five years of industry software engineering experience
- Meaningful experience building and shipping public-facing APIs or developer platforms in production
- Deep knowledge of REST API design, including versioning, backward compatibility, pagination, error semantics, hypermedia, OpenAPI, and JSON Schema
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language, ideally Golang
- TypeScript, Python, and/or Java experience is a plus
- Customer-focused, collaborative, proactive, and willing to take ownership of work ranging from small tasks to large features
