Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain reusable platform foundations, platform services, and integration capabilities.
  • Build scalable backend services using Java, TypeScript, Go, or .NET and shared user-interface capabilities using React and Next.js.
  • Develop integrations with healthcare systems, APIs, and data sources using reusable patterns.
  • Deploy and operate healthcare solutions on Google Cloud Platform in partnership with cloud architects and platform engineers.
  • Automate delivery using DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tooling.
  • Support secure healthcare data movement, validation, monitoring, and use in collaboration with data engineers.
  • Develop operational tooling such as quality monitoring tools, audit logs, and application telemetry.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and reliability improvements to meet service-level objectives and agreements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, architecture, solutions, implementation, support, and partner teams to translate recurring needs into reusable platform tools and documentation.
  • Provide technical input to the Mayo Clinic Platform roadmap and follow established software and product development lifecycle processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant information technology field or at least 7 years of direct full-stack engineering experience with increasing complexity.
  • 3–5 years working in diverse software development environments using Agile principles.
  • Proven full-stack engineering experience with strong healthcare interoperability expertise.
  • Proficiency in Java and/or .NET for backend API and service design and implementation.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, React, and React frameworks such as Next.js for responsive frontend applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent cloud services and cloud-native application development.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and OMOP healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience with healthcare solutions integration and delivery.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data security and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach and interest in emerging technologies and industry best practices.
